MIRABAL Engineering is a member of the Construction Team of the East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) project.
The Construction Team, selected by NYCDDC through a competitive procurements process, joins the City Team, which leads the project, and the Design & Environmental Teams.

As a response to the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy (2012), the ESCR project emerged to develop advanced engineering solutions to increase the resiliency of the City. The project area spans from Montgomery St. to East 25th St. in Manhattan, and includes an extensive and diverse community of more than 110,000 New Yorkers. A unique and complex $1.45 billion project, ESCR will offer protection to critical infrastructure, create a flood protection system with floodwalls and floodgates that will merge into the structure of the city. The project will also incorporate major drainage upgrades that will improve the capacity of the City’s sewer system.
ESCR is a major project being constructed in an urban setting with complex infrastructure. The project is multifaceted and seeks to build the physical, social, and economic resiliency of the City strengthening its coastline while improving its waterfront open space and accessibility.
